Now, Moore has taken to Instagram to post an image of him and the rest of S.W.A.T.‘s core team, everyone happily posing during the show’s confirmed final day of filming. In his caption, the lead actor includes a heartfelt message about the series ending. In it, he celebrates how long the series has been on and the length of time the team’s been together, lamenting that it’s “not long enough.” Check out the image below:

In another image from Moore, the team can be seen standing next to one another, arms on each other’s shoulders as they pose more seriously against a green wall. Acknowledging the series wrapping filming, the lead actor offered a caption thanking fans for sticking with the series for so long. His post illustrates just how tightly-knit the cast has grown since the show began, while also serving as a bittersweet moment following its cancellation. See the image here:

It Really Will Be The Show’s Last Ride

Moore’s posts further confirm that S.W.A.T. season 9 isn’t happening, and that season 8 really will be the last stretch of episodes for the show. After the series was saved with season 7, CBS announced it would continue into season 8, with its episode count rising from 13 to 22, much like most of its prior seasons. However, the series seemingly wasn’t able to carry enough popularity to justify its renewal, the show ending with it being unclear if it will deliver a satisfying conclusion.
Based on Moore’s posts, it’s clear he’s still proud of the work he and his fellow cast members have done for the show, alongside support fans of the series have offered. While the show wasn’t able to beat getting cancelled a second time, the actor’s gratitude and that of his fellow cast members is clear from his posts. As for CBS, the network is starting to expand some of its existing series, with a new Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Blue, and Fire Country series Sheriff Country. Unfortunately, S.W.A.T. will not be part of this new future.

Now that S.W.A.T. has officially wrapped filming, the end of the series is becoming more cemented in stone. Even though another reversal by CBS would be satisfying to see, the show was, unfortunately, already living on borrowed time when season 7 was announced. Luckily, the series had a memorable run thanks to Moore and the rest of the cast and crew’s constant dedication. Even though the show is ending, its place in TV history will always remain.
