Kevin Costner just shared his newest love—and fans can’t stop talking about the pup
The Yellowstone star just introduced the newest member of his family: a white Labrador Retriever puppy.
In a series of photos on Instagram, the 69-year-old actor beams as he cuddles his new pup. One photo shows Costner holding the little dog close to his chest; another captures the puppy exploring the grass, wide-eyed and curious.
“Newest addition to the family,” Costner wrote. “I’m already in love with this special guy.”
Fans Can’t Get Enough
Within hours, Costner’s post drew thousands of likes and comments. Fans offered name ideas like Crash, Aspen, and Ranger — while others just melted over the puppy’s face.

Even without a name, this furry newcomer already feels like part of the Costner clan.
A Calmer Season After a Tumultuous Year
The happy update comes after what’s been a challenging stretch for Costner. In April, he confirmed his exit from Yellowstone, the hit show that helped define his career’s second act.
The move followed behind-the-scenes scheduling tensions and overlapped with his focus on Horizon: An American Saga — the western film he co-wrote and directed.
Then, just a month later, his 18-year marriage to Christine Baumgartner ended in divorce. Since the split, Costner has largely stayed out of the spotlight — focusing on family, his film projects, and now, life with a new companion.
A Gentle Step Forward
No dog can erase the weight of the past year, but this one seems to bring Costner the kind of quiet happiness that only a loyal pet can give.
Some say the right dog shows up when you need it most — and for Kevin Costner, this little Labrador might be exactly that.
