Speculation continued to grow that Jasmine is working with the Ford crime family in EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, November 25), in the wake of her attack on Cindy. As the shocked Beales scrabbled for answers, Oscar demanded to know if she’s with the Ford clan.

Jasmine was typically secretive – first claiming self-defence, then storming off when backed into a corner by Oscar.

And, as the episode ended, we’re no closer to answers. Is Jasmine with the Ford family or not?

Oscar raised the alarm following Cindy attack

Oscar was shocked as he stumbled across Cindy’s unconscious body near the Prince Albert. Meanwhile, as Lauren and the Beales sat down for dinner, Ian shared Cindy’s suspicions over Jasmine being a member of the notorious Ford crime family.

They were stunned as Oscar arrived, telling them how he’d found Cindy in the street. As they headed to the hospital, Oscar intercepted Jasmine, and questioned whether she’d been behind the attack. Caught out with blood on her shoe, she admitted she’d given Cindy a shove.

Believing her claims of self-defence, Oscar offered to talk to Lauren in the hope that he could convince the family not to call the police. He arrived at the hospital, where Ian and Lauren shared their suspicion that Jasmine’s working for (or is one of) the Fords.

Returning home, Oscar demanded to know whether she was a member of the Ford family. She insisted that she’d been telling the truth, and cruelly dismissed Nigel’s revenge theory as a symptom of his dementia.

At a stalemate, she walked out on him. Lauren returned home to find a heartbroken Oscar alone, his fledgling relationship in tatters.

Cindy lay unconscious in hospital as Jasmine arrived, sneaking into her private room. She regained consciousness just long enough to see Jasmine sneak out again, none the wiser as to what Jasmine’s up to.

As tonight’s scenes aired, fans shared their thoughts on Jasmine’s motives. And some wondered whether the Ford link could be a red herring.

“Do you guys think Jasmine is really apart of the Ford family? I don’t know if I do, it feels like the storyline has ended too quick for that to be the case,” wrote one fan on social media.

“I think whatever mystery there is behind Jasmine is something else. It can’t be that obvious,” agreed another.

A third echoed: “Wondering if the Fords are a red herring though; it all seems a bit too tidy and convenient for everyone to have suddenly latched onto the theory.”

But if not the Ford family, then who?

Another fan commented: “I agree that the Fords motive seems like a red herring. I think her dad’s side of the family is going to end up linked to Anthony’s shadowy phone call we saw.”

“I thought this initially – that Anita may be Jasmine’s adopted mother or Jasmine was fostered. I’m thinking about Anthony’s mystery phonecall in the cafe too and whether they are linked.” said a fifth.

Was Jasmine’s arrival in Walford never really about Cindy? A case of mistaken identity, perhaps?
