Genoa City Exodus: 6 Major Stars Are Packing Their Bags for Beyond the Gates!

The Young and the Restless has visited Beyond the Gates in the past when Devon briefly dropped by the show to offer Anita Dupree a recording deal. Now, a much bigger crossover is in the works as six Genoa City residents, including Victor Newman, are going to visit Fairmont Crest later this year!

The Young and the Restless meets Beyond the Gates

In a press release, CBS is announcing that a sweeping multi-episode crossover event is going to take place between Beyond the Gates and The Young and the Restless in June. The ambitious storyline will transport six iconic residents from Genoa City into the gated community of Fairmont Crest!

The story involves longtime pals Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) reuniting at a high-profile political fundraiser at Fairmont Crest. Over the years, Victor has backed Vernon’s political campaigns, while Vernon has championed legislation benefiting Newman Enterprises, an alliance built on loyalty, influence, and mutual gain.

Now, Vernon has asked Victor to serve as the keynote speaker for his grandson Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) fundraiser.

There are other connections among characters as Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Martin are friends from their days in New York City after college. Martin will have invited Kyle, who arrives alongside his parents, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters), to the gala.

Also on the VIP list are Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James). Watch for Devon to field an unexpected business opportunity from Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie). As the evening unfolds, a shocking event occurs, abruptly derailing the fundraiser and triggering dramatic consequences that will impact every guest in attendance.

The Young and the Restless, crossover classics

This isn’t the first crossover that CBS has broadcast in an effort to create synergy between its soap operas. In 1992, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) left Genoa City and landed in Los Angeles on The Bold and the Beautiful. Several months later, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) arrived in L.A. for a Forrester Creations fashion show. Lauren and Sheila were reunited, and the two engaged in an epic battle. Sheila emerged as the winner, only to be taken into custody later by authorities at a Forrester fashion show.

The reunion gave B&B a bump in the ratings, sending the show to the No. 2 spot for the first time in its history! Spoiler alert: Sheila and Lauren’s confrontation wasn’t even real, as Sheila had conjured up the encounter in her mind! The duo’s flesh and blood reunion occurred over on The Young and the Restless the following year, where it all began!
