‘FBI’ Season 8 Is Locked and Loaded for a Super-Sized Christmas Special

It is never a dull day at the bureau, even as the holidays approach, and everyone makes their plans. Fans of the high-octane procedural can expect an early Christmas gift in the form of a thrilling two-hour special event when the team uncovers a deeper story in what appears to be a straightforward murder case. In FBI Season 8 Episodes 9 and 10, titled “Lone Wolf” and “Wolf Pack” respectively, the murders of several members of a marginalized group reveal a nefarious plan by a particular group — the episodes air on Monday, December 15, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET. “As the holidays approach, the team finds three slain sex workers inside a brownstone – they uncover the murderer has a larger plan in place that they must rush to stop. Meanwhile, Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) receives a concerning call from his son, Tyler (Caleb Reese Paul),” teases the logline for the first part. The case goes even deeper, according to the logline for the second part, which reads:

“Chaos erupts in the city when an attack disrupts cell, internet, and emergency services. As the team races to uncover the culprits, they learn the group responsible is a radical accelerationist movement fixated on resetting society.”

The two-hour special event is still several weeks away. However, there are two brand-new episodes in the interim. In FBI Season 8, Episode 7, “Fadeaway,” there are some changes on the horizon as Isobel (Alana De La Garza) makes a shift in her career. ‘When a large-scale explosion rocks a Brooklyn apartment complex, the team quickly locates the perpetrator and discovers he’s acting on the orders of a convicted felon currently serving time. Meanwhile, Isobel must name her successor before she moves into her new role,” reads the logline for the December 1 episode. And in the December 8 episode, another conspiracy is afoot, according to the details for Episode 8, “Ratlined.” Its logline reads:

“When a journalist is shot while interviewing a prime minister, all fingers point to an assassination attempt, but the team uncovers a deeper conspiracy after the assassin is also targeted. Meanwhile, OA (Zeeko Zaki) struggles to let Gemma (Comfort Clinton) in on the dangers of his job.”

Meanwhile, the FBI universe is slowly rebuilding, following the cancellations of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. A new offshoot, CIA, joins the schedule when the show returns for midseason on Monday, February 23, despite numerous reports of production issues. New episodes of FBI will air at 9 p.m. ET, followed by CIA at 10 p.m. ET.

Catch a new episode in two weeks on December 1, before the two-hour special on December 15. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
