EastEnders spoiler: Ravi’s fatal mistake gives Oki total power as Kojo fights to survive his captivity

EastEnders spoilers for next week: Okie takes charge of Ravi's empire as he keeps Kojo prisoner

THE DECEPTIVE RETURN: BLISS, GUILT, AND THE MURKY SHADOWS

What began as a supposed fresh start for Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Priya (Ella Baud) has quickly unravelled into a nightmare of guilt and deception. Their idyllic escape to Ibiza—a sun-drenched attempt to restore normality—was nothing more than a temporary mirage before the inevitable storm that awaited them back in Walford.

On the surface, Ravi and Priya seem blissful, passionately inseparable, and eager to portray the image of a reformed couple. Yet behind their smiles lies a suffocating truth: Ravi’s guilt is consuming him. Once a man of ambition and ruthless control, Ravi now faces an emotional reckoning. Those close to him sense a rare vulnerability—his conscience is gnawing at him, his double life as a drug lord and devoted family man beginning to collapse under its own weight.

The trip itself was born from tragedy. Ravi’s daughter Avani’s trauma, after discovering Joel had secretly filmed their private moments, pushed him into panic and self-reflection. He justified the getaway as a chance to help her heal, but deep down, Ravi knew the true source of their pain was his own world of crime and secrecy. His empire—the very thing he built to protect his family—has become the poison destroying it.

Even moments of passion can’t escape the chaos. In a symbolic twist, their romantic reunion led to them bursting in on Suki and Eve’s meeting with prospective adoptive parents—a moment that exposed the truth about Ravi’s life: no matter how far he runs, he cannot stop causing collateral damage. His pursuit of peace will always be marred by the wreckage he leaves behind.

THE FATEFUL MOVE: A DEVASTATING ACT OF TRUST

Ravi’s desperate bid for redemption came with a price. To end his criminal life once and for all, he had to confront his volatile associate, Oki (Raja Lenga)—the man now revealed to be far more dangerous than anyone imagined.

In a cruel twist of irony, the manipulator became the manipulated. Oki seized his chance, fabricating a convincing story that both captives—Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holley) and Kojo Asar (Tosin Cole)—had already been released. The lie was subtle, believable, and perfectly timed to exploit Ravi’s exhaustion and guilt.

Believing the nightmare was finally over, Ravi made the most catastrophic decision of his life: he handed Oki full control of his entire operation. Convinced he was freeing himself and protecting his family, Ravi unknowingly handed absolute power to a sociopath. It was an act meant as a promise of love to Priya, but in reality, it sealed the fate of two innocent men.

Oki now stands unchallenged, ruling the drug network with no moral restraint or oversight. Ravi’s attempt to cleanse his soul has instead created a monster with total control—one whose cruelty knows no limits. The question haunting Walford is no longer whether Ravi’s secret will come out, but what Oki will do before it does.

THE HOSTAGES’ PLIGHT: NO ESCAPE FROM OKI’S GRIP

For Harry and Kojo, Ravi’s decision has turned their captivity into a death sentence. Kojo’s earlier escape attempt ended in failure after Oki caught him just before he could flee. Harry remains sedated and incoherent, his mind a haze of drugs and fear, while Kojo—though still conscious and aware—has become Oki’s main target.

Kojo’s act of silent rebellion—pretending to swallow the drugs Oki forced on him, only to secretly spit them out—was an extraordinary moment of defiance. But it came at a cost. Oki now keeps him under constant surveillance, aware that his prisoner is too smart and too dangerous to be underestimated.

With Ravi gone and Oki fully empowered, there is no longer any incentive for mercy. The captives’ lives hang by a thread, and their only hope is that someone in Walford uncovers the truth before it’s too late.

WALFORD’S EXPLOSIVE OTHER WOES

Even as Oki’s reign of terror tightens its grip, other corners of Albert Square are crumbling under the weight of long-buried secrets and moral catastrophe.

The Slater Family Implosion
Kat Slater’s (Jessie Wallace) impulsive decision to expose Zoe’s (Michelle Ryan) long-held lie during the Queen Vic quiz night has shattered the family beyond repair. Zoe’s false claim that Dennis Rickman fathered the baby she gave up in 2006 has left Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Vicki reeling. But the fallout has only just begun. Zoe’s paranoia is spiralling as unseen forces torment her—smashing a treasured photo and playing a mysterious VHS tape from the 1980s that threatens to reveal the ultimate secret: Kat is not her sister, but her mother.

Nigel’s Tragic Unraveling
Meanwhile, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) faces the darkest chapter of his life after his dementia-fueled car crash claimed Jasmine’s life and left Gina Knight critically injured. His partner Julie’s desperate attempt to take the blame faltered when Nigel’s fragmented memory betrayed him. Though his illness shields him from full legal accountability, his guilt is unbearable. The couple’s long-dreamed trip to India is now abandoned, and George Knight’s fury at Nigel’s freedom continues to divide the Square.

As guilt, lies, and vengeance collide, Walford teeters on the brink of collapse. Ravi’s desperate bid to protect his family has instead unleashed a predator with unchecked power, while secrets in the Slater and Bates households promise further devastation. The message is chillingly clear: in Walford, redemption always comes too late—and the past never stays buried.
