EastEnders’ Joel Marshall finally gets comeuppance after horrific Vicki Fowler attack

The Joel Marshall misogyny storyline leads to horrifying scenes

Tonight, EastEnders fans saw the horrendous aftermath of Joel’s vicious misogynistic attack on his stepmother Vicki Fowler. Fans were left overjoyed by the result – with Joel finally receiving his comeuppance.

On Thursday night, fans watched on in horror as Joel attacked Vicki after she reprimanded him for making a teacher cry and showing his class an extremely pornographic video.

Things escalated outside of school as he shoved Amy Mitchell, and the whole incident caused a debate around the Square.

After leaving Vicki lying black and blue on the ground, twisted Joel went on to record her before escaping the house where he bumped into his dad Ross, who was none the wiser. He then went to see Tommy, and told him he ‘shoved’ Vicki, completely downplaying the situation.

Alice Haig, who plays Vicki, has now revealed the fallout to the disturbing episode

Vicki later stumbled into the Vic, collapsing as soon as she got to the door, leaving the residents in shock.

As Ross later found out, an ambulance had rushed his partner to the hospital, Priya made it clear it was his son Joel who was to blame – but Ross wasn’t having any of it.

He rushed over to the hospital, where he was met with Sharon and Zack, telling them she was going to be okay, but doctors believed she had a broken arm and a collapsed lung. Once again, he refused to believe Joel had anything to do with it.

As the police came to the hospital, they became suspicious of Ross, especially seeing as he had bruises on his knuckles from punching the wall with anger.

Growing suspicious himself, Ross arrived back home, where he saw evidence on Joel’s laptop. Tommy agreed to hide Joel in the Slaters garage before learning the extent of what he’d done. However, when Ross learnt the truth, Tommy revealed where Joel was hiding.

Later, the police broke down the door to arrest Joel.

The whole Square was seen looking at him in disgust, including his dad Ross, who appears to have turned his son in.

“I didn’t do it,” Joel could be heard screaming as he was taken away in the police car. But what’s next for Joel and is it the end?

Spoilers for this week and next week don’t seem to be giving much away, although spoilers for tomorrow night reveal that tensions simmer between Vicki and Ross as they discuss Joel. Later in the week, Vicki is left stunned as she learns the development in her case, but what has happened?
