Oscar’s new flame Jasmine was left for dead after she was thrown to the floor after being hit by a car

EASTENDERS fans have called out a major blunder after they spotted Oscar Branning downing shots on last night’s episode.

The fruit and veg seller has fallen hard for newcomer Jasmine Fisher.

But Oscar has cottoned on that Jasmine is hiding something after she discharged herself from hospital early and refused to call her mum.

Convinced Jasmine is keeping a secret, Oscar confided in big sister Lauren, who told her that his lost puppy routine was giving Jasmine the ick.

Later in Tuesday’s episode, Oscar headed to The Prince Albert to drown his sorrows, while he continued to quiz love interest Jasmine on her secret.

Oscar could be seen getting increasingly drunk as he downed shot after shot, while manager Elaine failed to bat an eye.

BBC viewers were left baffled that 17-year-old Oscar was allowed to knock back the booze, without anyone refusing to serve him.

In the UK, you must be at least 18 to buy alcohol in a bar.

It is illegal for anyone to sell alcohol to someone under 18, and it’s also illegal for individuals under 18 to attempt to buy it.

Oscar is currently 17 and according to his EastEnders birthday he doesn’t turn 18 until 13th December.

This viewer pointed out: “Have the writers forgotten that Oscar is only 17? why is he always drinking in the pub/the bar – you’d think Elaine would be more careful when she’s been in trouble for underage drinkers before.”

A second asked: “Oscar is underage – why is he being allowed to drink in the bar?”

This viewer said: “Are we forgetting Oscar is 17? Why is he always in the bar?”

Another added: “Have the writers forgotten that Oscar is supposed to be only 17.”

Nigel came clean and told Jasmine that he had knocked her down.

But when Nigel brought up Jasmine’s remark at the hospital, she flipped out and told him to leave.

Meanwhile Jasmine was sent a basket of fruit from a mystery employer.

A note on the card read: “Rest up and get well soon. Need you back on top form.”

Oscar then spotted his girlfriend chucking the fruit basket in the bin while back at the Square, leaving him with more questions.
