Eastenders fans baffled as favourite character ‘missing for months’ after cruise exit — Where has she gone?
EastEnders fans said ‘it’s been ages’ as they took to social media to question where a ‘missing’ fan favourite character has been.
It’s been a hectic period on the BBC soap amid a hard-hitting storyline involving troubled teenager Joel Marshall, played by Max Murrary.
Last week saw the teenager arrested after punching his dad Ross Marshall’s girlfriend Vicki Fowler, proceeding to record her struggling to get off the floor.
Despite entering hiding in Tommy Moon’s garage, Ross discovered the truth and reported the incident to the police, who promptly arrested Joel.
Eventually learning that his dad betrayed him, Joel told police officers that he wants nothing to do with his dad moving forward.
The fallout of the incident led to Ross being kicked out of their family home, with Vicki furious at him for defending Joel’s actions after months of him displaying misogynistic traits.
Another big storyline taking place has seen Harry Mitchell being held captive by drug dealer Ravi Gulati and his henchman Okie.
Despite Ravi telling Okie to let Harry go after he took his daughter Avani Nandra-Hart on a holiday, Okie is trying to win the affections of Harry’s girlfriend Gina.
While there’s lots of action occurring on the programme as the seeds begin to be planted for the Christmas storylines, one popular character has been missing since July.
Linda Cater was last seen saying goodbye to Walford back in July as she headed for a cruise after selling the Queen Vic to Kat and Stacey Slater.
Deciding that she wants to try something new in life, Linda has not been seen in two months in spite of her son Johnny Carter already arriving back in Walford from the trip.
Played by Kellie Bright, Linda instantly became a fan favourite character in 2013 through her relationship with Danny Dyer’s Mick Carter.
Over the years, Kellie has received critical praise for her portrayal of Linda’s frequent struggles with alcoholism, including an episode last year where she decided to go sober for good.
Taking to the EastEnders Reddit page, fans of the programme expressed their frustrations on why there’s been no explanation as to where Linda is.
@spacecowboyo said: “Is she still on her cruise?? It’s been ages.” @stpony added: “I know she just sold a pub, which should have fetched around a million and she’s got a third of that in her back pocket, but I would love the Walford lifestyle. Extended holidays, without issues with your kids being at school. You can afford to eat and drink out around the clock and if you do by any shopping, it’s at Tesco Metro hiked prices.”
@bulldog_blues wrote: “Not that it makes much more sense, but Johnny mentioned that the cruise ended a while ago (hence why he’s back!) and he last left her at a resort in Mexico, with the implication she’d met someone. How she’s getting away with having her 10 year old son out of school for so long is anyone’s guess.”

While she’s been on break from her EastEnders, Kellie fronted a new Panorama special, titled Autism, School and Families.
The special saw Kellie, who is a mum to a child with autism, meeting families who are fighting to get the right education for their autistic children.
