EastEnders lawyer Johnny Carter realises that his career could be in tatters next week, when he makes a clumsy error that leaves him unemployed. Is there any way to salvage the situation, or is it time for a fresh start?

The drama kicks off as Elaine Peacock’s rogue idea inspires Johnny to look beyond his law firm, but will he come to regret his risky initiative?

“It’s all change for Walford’s very own hot-shot lawyer,” teases our EastEnders insider. “He’s in a surprise new relationship with Callum, and now he’s looking to start his own business! But alas, things soon go awry…”

It all starts when Elaine hears back from Teddy Mitchell about his quote for the potential building work on No.5 – and it’s a truly eye-watering figure. This doesn’t seem to discourage her ambitions though, as she later explains to Yolande Trueman that she wants to turn the building into a boutique hotel.

Elaine is full of entrepreneurial spirit and she is keen for her grandson to follow her lead, later suggesting to Johnny that he takes a chance and starts his own business.

Johnny gets to work on a proposal as he aims to branch out alone, but when he wakes up the next day, he realises that he’s made a massive blunder…

“It’s panic stations for Johnny,” our source warns. “He realises that in a drunken state, he sent a business proposal to not only all his clients, but his current boss!

“Johnny naively hopes that he’s got away with it, but he later breaks the news to Callum that he’s been sacked…”

What will Johnny do now, and will his brutal firing bring about an unexpected career change?

It’s certainly an eventful time for Johnny, as today’s episode also sees him face the music over his new relationship with Callum.

The couple’s secret shenanigans come to a head following the sudden reappearance of Callum’s husband Ben Mitchell, who’s out on day release from prison.

Tuesday’s episode ends on a positive note for Johnny and Callum’s future, while Ben is left heartbroken.
