Daytime Emmy 2025 Emerging Talent Nominee Spotlight: Lisa Yamada as Luna Nozawa on B&B

Lisa Yamada made the transition from sweet and lovely Luna to loony and delusional Luna like a boss.

Lisa Yamada was thrown a major twist on The Bold and the Beautiful when Luna went from the sweet Forrester Creations intern to a murdering psycho. That change of events earned Yamada a well-deserved Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Emerging Talent category.

Seeking Her First Daytime Emmy Win

When Luna was first introduced, she was merely a prop for RJ (Joshua Hoffman) and a quest for Zende (Delon de Metz). The family tension between Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Poppy (Romy Park) added more to Luna, but no one could have expected what the writers had in store for the character.

The search to find out who Luna’s father was turned out to reveal the character’s true colors. After faking a paternity test that said Bill (Don Diamont) was her father, Luna grew desperate to keep her secret.

Tom’s (Clint Howard) arrival set off a chain of events that led Luna to become who she is today. Once Tom started to blab that he was Luna’s father, not Bill, she killed him.

Shortly after Tom’s death, Hollis (Hollis Chambers) uncovered the truth, so Luna killed him too. If that wasn’t bad enough, Luna framed Poppy for the murders.

Luna got sloppy, though, when she kissed Bill, who was supposedly her father, and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) saw it. This led to Luna holding Steffy hostage in a cage in a building that was about to be torn down.

The truth eventually came out that Luna was the one who went on a killing spree and set up her mom to take the fall. Finn (Tanner Novlan) managed to save Steffy, while Luna was hauled off to prison.

Yamada brought her A-game throughout every twist and turn that was thrown her way regarding Luna. The actress has killed it, making fans literally hate Luna and her despicable actions.

Despite some stiff competition, Yamada has a good chance of bringing home the win on Emmy night. Not only has she had juicy material, but she’s channeled Luna’s inner psycho like a champ.

The other nominees in the Emerging Talent category are: The Bay’s Olivia d’Abo (Fifi), B&B’s Christian Weissmann (Remy), and Days of our Lives stars AnnaLynne McCord (Cat) and Ashley Puzemis (Holly).
