After Leaving ‘Yellowstone,’ Kevin Costner Partnered With Morgan Freeman on This Gripping Civil War Series You Need To Watch
While Kevin Costner‘s new chapter following his exit from Yellowstone has been anything but smooth sailing, one of his projects just got some great news. The Gray House, the civil war Western TV series he executive produced alongside fellow Hollywood icon Morgan Freeman, has a place to land. According to Deadline, the series has been snagged by Prime Video, and will be premiering on the platform in early 2026.
What Is ‘The Gray House’ About?
The Gray House, directed by Roland Joffé, is a true-story-based historical drama about a group of unsung heroes who created a spy network within the Confederate circles during the Civil War. Each day, these women, including a Virginia socialite, her mother, and a formerly enslaved sister-in-arms, would risk their lives and liberties to transform an underground railroad into an effective underground spy network.
The women, who General Ulysses S. Grant later credited as helping the North win the Civil War, are played by Mary-Louise Parker (The West Wing), Daisy Head (Harlots), and Amethyst Davis (Kindred). In addition to the all-female lead trio, the series also stars Ben Vereen, Paul Anderson, Ian Duff, Hannah James, Robert Knepper, Christopher McDonald, Colin Morgan, Rob Morrow, Colin O’Donoghue, Sam Trammell, Ewan Miller and Keith David.
