Emmerdale fans confess they’re “scared” for a villager after Dr Todd lets slip a personal detail about her life that could spell danger in the Dales.

Caroline Harker returned to her role as Dr Todd earlier this year, but has been making Jacob Sugden’s work a living hell after choosing to include him in her mentorship programme.

Dr Todd has been pushing Jacob to his breaking point, and matters are set to deteriorate further for the trainee medic as Todd has yet to encounter her equal.

During Thursday’s (April 2) episode, Jacob witnessed Dr Todd snapping at a patient and he immediately challenged her, declaring the conduct as inappropriate, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Nevertheless, she swiftly disclosed that the patient was her father battling with dementia. Following their conversation where Jacob shared details about Pollard’s health condition, Todd mentioned that she had a wife at home, offering a glimpse into her private life.

This follows Jacob landing in hot water after he incorrectly diagnosed Kim Tate with possible mushroom poisoning, a conclusion that was later found to be an overdose of her pain relief tablets.

Speaking about her comeback, Caroline Harker said: “I’m delighted to be back at Emmerdale for a longer stint playing Doctor Todd. She’s a complex character and from what I’ve been told so far, quite a tricky one for Jacob to navigate.

“Workplace bullying is commonplace, and it will be interesting to see it brought to our screens in a serial drama such as Emmerdale.”

With Dr Todd mentioning her wife, and Vanessa Woodfield potentially on the lookout for a new flatmate, some fans are concerned that this could signal a potential new romance in the Dales.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), @ryansconnorz posted: “Rumours say Dr Todd could be Vanessa’s new roommate.. and we have a confirmation of into women.. Im scared.”
