‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) Invites Ryan Gosling to Visit the DOOL Set and Jokes, “Nobody Will Be Possessed!”

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that during a recent appearance on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Hollywood actor and star of the Barbie movie sang the praises of Days of Our Lives.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gosling Gave Mad Props to Deidre Hall for Her Acting In the Devil Possession Storyline

Gosling was on the podcast to promote his new movie, Project Hail Mary. The actor shared that he was a huge fan of Days of Our Lives growing up.

When host Josh Horowitz told Gosling he never got into soap operas, Gosling explained that his enjoyment and respect for the soaps partly comes from his admiration for soap actors.

Gosling gushed,

“They do not get the love they deserve. The amount they have to memorize the night before, like ten pages of dialogue.”

He continued,

“They get one take, and it’s impossible scenarios, like when Marlena gets possessed. This was right around when X-Files was a big deal, right? Suddenly, everything got supernatural.”

Gosling added, “She was possessed by the devil. So, Deidre Hall, suddenly, after playing a normal person, then she’s not.”

The actor presented another scenario,

“Or, like somebody’s dead, and now they’re back, and then they’re a different actor.”

Gosling added,

“Let’s just say, it was an incredible acting class. What’s amazing is that I was thinking, ‘God, Deidre Hall is a great actress because she’s having to act possessed right now. That just seems like a lot to ask of her.”

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Marlena Was Hypnotized and Brainwashed By Stefano DiMera

Deidre Hall has played Marlena Evans since 1976, and her character has been possessed by the devil twice. The first iconic possession took place in 1995.

Long-time DOOL fans know that Marlena was possessed after she was targeted, hypnotized, and brainwashed by the villainous Stefano DiMera (Joe Mascolo), which led to some shocking events in Salem.

The second time, the brilliant then-head writer, Ron Carlivati, reprised the storyline to honor the first possession. In 2021, the devil returned to Salem and possessed several characters, including Marlena.

Gosling told Horowitz that he had to stop watching DOOL as he got older and busier. However, he decided to turn on the show again one day, and Marlena was possessed again!

Gosling exclaimed,

“It was on TV, and she’s possessed again!”

He joked, referring to Deidre’s character, Marlena,

“I think it’s just like, somehow, my life keeps crossing paths with Deidre Hall when she’s possessed.”

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Deidre Hall Invited Gosling to Visit the DOOL Set, and He Enthusiastically Responded, “YES!”

The actress took to Instagram and, in a video, invited Gosling to the set of DOOL. She said,

“Hi Josh, Hi Ryan. It’s Deidre Hall.”

She told them,

“I caught the podcast. Oh my gosh, what fun. We played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the make -up room, and we’re just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of. Because we work really, really hard, as you acknowledged.”

That’s when Hall extended an invitation to Gosling,

“We think it would be nice if you wanted to come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods. So, this is an open invitation to visit the Days of Our Lives set. Nobody will be possessed. And if they are, I’ll keep an eye on you.”

So, Gosling responded enthusiastically in a video on Instagram,

“Deidre Hall, are you kidding me? Yes! This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on the set.”

Gosling said,

“I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration. It wasn’t Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront. It wasn’t Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver. It was you. And I want to thank you for your offer. Any time. Anywhere. You tell me, I’ll be there!”
