According to TV Guide, the folks over at NBC are not going to air the next, new episode 9 of their hit crime/drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 27 tonight, November 27, 2025, and for a few more Thursday nights.

It turns out that the previous episode 8, which hit the air last Thursday night, November 20, 2025 was the Fall finale episode. So, the show is going to go on a semi-long hiatus for a bit.

According to a few of our sources, NBC is currently scheduled to finally air the new episode 9 on Thursday night, January 8, 2026 in its usual, 8 pm central standard time slot. So, certainly try to remember that very important date and time if you can.

In the meantime, TV Guide did let us know what NBC is going to air in place of Law & Order: SVU tonight and next Thursday night.

Tonight, they will be providing LIVE coverage of an NFL Football game that features the Cincinnati Bengals versus the Baltimore Ravens. They will start it off with a mini preview show in the 7 pm central standard time slot, and then cover the actual game at around 7:20 pm central time.

NBC’s official description for their LIVE coverage of this NFL football game and preview show reads like this, “Football Night in America: Maria Taylor hosts Thanksgiving highlights and features in a preview of the Bengals-Ravens game.

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens. Cincinnati Bengals (3-8) at Baltimore Ravens (6-5). From M&T Bank Stadium. Next Thursday night, December 4, 2025, NBC is going to air a repeat episode of Law & Order: SVU. It will be the second episode of this current season 27 titled, “A Waiver of Consent.”

NBC’s official description for it reads like this, “When a member of an elite social club is assaulted, Carisi must convince witnesses to come forward despite the club’s strict confidentiality rules. Chief Tynan offers Benson some extra help. Velasco is confronted with a surprising opportunity.”

After the December 4, 2025 date, you guys will need to check your local listings to see what NBC is going to serve up on Thursday nights until that January 8, 2026 date arrives.
