BBC EastEnders has revealed a new suspect in Zoe Slater’s stalker mystery with terrifying consequences for the character as ‘villainous turn’ could put her in dangerr

EastEnders Zoe Slater doesn’t know it yet, but there has been a terrifying new twist in her stalker storyline, with a new suspect coming forward.

During Wednesday’s episode, airing on November 26, fans watched as Zoe confronted Jean, unaware that another Albert Square resident might be her tormentor.

After learning it was Jean’s earring found by the Queen Vic barrel store, Zoe became convinced the older woman was trying to get rid of her, and the two continued to clash. Throughout the episode, Zoe confided in her former flame, Anthony Trueman.

The two have been getting close since Zoe returned to the Square in September, so her turning to him in her hour of need is no surprise. However, later on in the episode, viewers watched as Anthony opened his laptop to creepily scroll through pictures of Zoe.

It seems Anthony may be the one making life hell for Zoe. Fans thought as much, heading online to say so. One wrote: “Why does Anthony have photos of Zoe on his laptop?! He’s giving me really creepy vibes lately. Either he’s insanely obsessed… or he’s her stalker! Maybe even both.”

Another said they liked the “villainous turn” Anthony was taking: “I kind of like this creepy, perhaps villainous turn Anthony has taken. His creepy smirk is cracking me up.” A third added that no one should be shocked, as he’s made his interest in Zoe very clear since they both returned. “Am I the only one not shocked that Anthony is the stalker? He’s been creeping around her for weeks.”

Anthony and Zoe have a scandalous past. Back in the 2000s, Anthony started dating Zoe’s mother, Kat. After the two broke up, he started dating her teenage daughter Zoe, who is 14 years his junior.

Kat disapproved of their relationship, and Anthony still harboured feelings for the older Slater. When this was revealed, Zoe ran away from Walford. Anthony and Kat continue to date, until she breaks up with him after failing to impress his friends.

Zoe, meanwhile, soon returned and began dating Dennis Rickman. Earlier this year, Zoe revealed she had given birth to twins in 2006 and claimed Dennis, who has been dead since 2005, was the father.

This later proved to be a lie, designed to get Sharon Watts – Dennis’ adoptive sister and wife – to pay for a private investigator to track down her son.

Since returning, Zoe and Anthony have gotten very close, as he has been there for her throughout her stalker torment. But, the two have also clashed as Anthony has warned Kat that her daughter may be suffering from a form of psychosis.

However, the clashing appears to have stopped as tonight’s episode sees the former lovers lock lips whilst discussing her stalker in his living room. Anthony, who is separated from his wife, can then be seen smiling menacingly as Zoe tries to lead him upstairs.
