Updated News: Kevin Costner Breaks Silence After Serious Illness — “I’m Not Afraid of Death, But…” His Heartbreaking Confession About His Greatest Regret Moves Millions to Tears

Kevin Costner, 69, said he may not be done with “Yellowstone.”

In an interview with ET published Tuesday, the Oscar winner said that making the show has been “a wonderful part of my life.”

“And who knows, some things have a way of circling back,” he continued. “I haven’t seen that dust trail coming toward me, but I’ve always been open to what I started. Five seasons was a lot for us to do, and I think that story is not finished.”

He suggested it “can go on” because his character, John Dutton, has children, “so make the story about them.”

The ranch drama follows the Dutton family, owners of the largest ranch in Montana, including patriarch John (Costner) and his adult children: Kayce (Luke Grimes), Jamie (Wes Bentley), Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Beth’s husband, Rip (Cole Hauser).

The second half of Season 5 will premiere Nov. 10 on Paramount Network.

Costner has confirmed that he’s not returning to the show — but footage of him appears in the trailer for the final episodes. There’s also voiceover of him saying, “Legacy. You build something worth having, someone is gonna try and take it.”

Costner exited the series in a cloud of drama amid a rumored feud with showrunner Taylor Sheridan.

In May, Costner gave an interview to Deadline slamming the show’s producers for “bulls–t” drama, and he said the show had “no scripts” to film Season 5 with.

In June, Costner took to Instagram to tell his fans in a video that he’s focusing on making his epic four-part Western movie “Horizon: An American Saga,” which got tepid reviews and tanked at the box office.

“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on ‘Horizon’ and doing all the things that that’s required, thinking about ‘Yellowstone,’ that beloved series that I love, that I know you love. I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, Season 5 or into the future.”

The “Waterworld” star added, “I loved it and I know you loved it. I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning. I love the relationships that I’ve been able to develop. And I’ll see you at the movies.”
