Yellowstone is all set to get a new spinoff, Y: Marshals, and a new teaser for the same has been released. With the release of the same, now fans are even more curious about the release timeline of this new show, as well as how to watch, with Taylor Sheridan’s role in it. Here’s all you need to know about the same.

The series, which will consist of 13 episodes in its first season, will reportedly premiere as part of CBS’s 2025-26 lineup. While it is scheduled to premiere in the spring of 2026 as part of CBS’s lineup, the exact release date for the same has yet to be officially announced.

The upcoming series will premiere on CBS and serve as a midseason replacement, airing on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET. It will be available for streaming on Paramount+ by early 2026.

Sheridan, in the meantime, is not starring in this show. This time around, he’s only attached as an executive producer, and this series will be the first in the entire universe surrounding the Dutton family where he will not serve as the primary and sole writer. The cast of Y: Marshals is as decorated as the rest of the shows from the Yellowstone universe. This is because a lot of the key cast members are returning, summing up for a strong cast for the show, combining familiar faces with exciting newcomers

The returning key members include Luke Grimes leading the ensemble as Kayce Dutton, joined by Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, Mo Brings Plenty as Mo, and Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton. They will be further joined by Arielle Kebbel as Belle, Ash Santos as Andrea, and Tatanka Means as Miles.

Meanwhile, Logan Marshall-Green will be playing Pete Calvin, while Brett Cullen is another addition to the cast.

What Will Y: Marshals Be About?

The plot of Y: Marshals will feature Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton joining an elite unit of the U.S. Marshals, with the Yellowstone Ranch now behind him. In the Marshals, he combines his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.

Together, he and his teammates must balance family, duty, and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.

In the latest released teaser, Kayce is seen in a very brief yet new look among his co-stars. In the short clip, he says,

I’m just grappling with some skeletons I’d like to keep in my closet.

The footage also features an armed Grimes walking through Montana woods with his fellow marshals, who will be embodied by Arielle Kebbel and Ash Santos. However, Kelsey Asbille’s Monica Dutton’s absence was pretty noticeable in the cast list of the spin-off, though Grimes’ Kayce was seen wearing his wedding ring in the teaser.
