Actor George Pogatsia recalled an incident when he and his wife prevented an abduction attempt in real life. In an interview with TMZ on Sunday, November 2, the actor recalled the incident that happened on Saturday night at around 10:30 pm local time.

He told the outlet that he and his wife were together as they were heading home from Jersey City Heights in New Jersey when they saw a man trying to approach a 19-year-old girl. The Law & Order actor said that it happened on a somewhat dark street and that the girl looked drunk and was attempting to shoo away the man, but he wouldn’t budge.
The still unidentified man reportedly pressured the girl to come home with him, and when the rejection didn’t appear to sway the man to leave her alone, the girl reportedly tried to run away. George Pogatsia added that they decided to intervene when the man began to grab the girl and forcefully throw her over his shoulder.

He told TMZ that he confronted the man and demanded that he put down the girl or he would level with him. After that, he said that the would-be kidnapper let go of the woman and bolted before the police and ambulance could arrive. Talking about stopping what could have been a kidnapping incident, the actor said:

“I hope she’s okay. I’m happy I was able to step up and stop it.”

One of his well-known acting gigs includes guest-starring twice in the long-running police procedural Law & Order. He played an unnamed court officer in 2004’s season 15 episode 5, Gunplay, which centered around a case involving black market gun dealers who killed two undercover police officers.

Pogatsia returned to the show for the second time four years later in the season 19 premiere, Rumble, as Mikey. Another high-profile guest-starring role he did was in the gangster drama The Sopranos, where he played one of Sally Boy’s (Daniel Baldwin) key advisors, Frankie. He is the mob boss’s trusted man alongside another advisor, Nicky, played by Lenny Ligotti.
According to his IMDb page, George Pogatsia last starred in the TV series Luke Cage as an Italian thug. He also appeared in the movies Manhattan Night and Baked in Brooklyn. But besides acting, Pogatsia also works behind the camera as a writer, director, and producer.
